Algorithm:
An algorithm is simply a set of instructions, a recipe that tells a computer what to do, step by step. It can be as simple as sorting numbers or as complex as recommending your next movie on Netflix. Unlike humans, algorithms don’t “think”; they follow logic and rules written in code.
Today, many algorithms are designed to learn from data, which means they adapt their behavior over time based on patterns they detect, this is the foundation of machine learning. Algorithms shape much of what we see online, from social media feeds to job ads, making it essential to understand how they work and who designs them.
Machine Learning (ML):
Machine learning is the backbone of modern AI. It’s how computers “learn” patterns from examples.
Give a model thousands of pictures labeled “cat” and “dog,” and it figures out what visual features belong to each category. The machine doesn’t understand cats or dogs, it recognizes pixel patterns and probabilities.

In the AI community at large, it’s still evolving, AI agents are systems designed to take actions on their own, beyond just responding to prompts. Think of them as goal-driven assistants that can plan, decide, and execute tasks without constant human input.
For example, an AI agent might:
Research a topic, summarize findings, and draft an email.
Monitor your calendar and automatically schedule meetings.
Handle customer service requests from start to finish.
These agents break down tasks and operate through loops, “memory”, and adaptability to operate autonomously.
But their growing autonomy also raises new ethical questions:

How much control should we hand over to systems that act on our behalf?
